GIMIKS BORN
Bitter Winds
Opening Reception from 6pm Friday 5 November 2010
Exhibition runs 5-26 November 2010

Forecast Signals a Storm of an Exhibition

Brisbane based artist Gimiks Born will create an unpredicted storm when the doors of the Bitter Winds exhibition blow open at Brisbane based gallery, Jugglers Art Space on November 5th 2010.

His novelist approach to art will not only sooth the visual senses, it will entice art enthusiasts to enter his unique realm of fantasy, a place where strange and wonderful creatures flourish in a mystical world riddled with chaos.

Gimiks work is sure to set your imagination alight with an adventurous tale complete with hero’s, villain’s and a variety of characters for the audience to engage with.

The tale starts with the crisp bite of blowing winds before an ominous storm, the cold sting of rain drops biting at your skin, the distant rumble of thunder shaking you to the core and the anticipation of the threatening chaos that is likely to follow.

“Where the story goes from there is up to the audience as they piece it together, similar to the structure of a graphic novel.” says Gimiks.

The Bitter Winds exhibition is set to be the prelude to an ongoing narrative that will leave exhibitors itching for a sequel. If forecasts are accurate Bitter Winds looks likely to mirror the success of Gimiks first sell-out solo exhibition Six Degrees of Sinister, which opened with record attendance at Jugglers Art Space in late 2007.

The Bitter Winds exhibition featuring Gimiks Born’s latest creations will also include contributions from special guest artists including Nic Plowman, Alex Louisa, Shida and more.

With appearances from Gimiks Born & Special Guest artists
Performance by guest DJ, Mark 1 (from Aussie Hip Hop band Mindfield).
And a chance for one lucky winner to take home an original framed Bitter Winds sketch.
