Veneer by Guido van Helten is a profound new body of work that challenges the notions of conservative cultural policy vs. street art in his home town of Brisbane. Through a collection of paintings on demolished ‘Queenslander’ architectural materials, Guido’s work combines the classic with the contemporary, depicting a colourful alternative to the current state of the arts in Queensland.
