The Loovre has become an innovative space at Jugglers which will for a few weeks be filled with contemporary female portraits by Lauren Simpson. Using paint mediums such as gouache and acrylic on wood panel, the paintings depict ethereal, stylised versions of reality and self.
The ideas we hold about ourselves is not always construed on our exterior to other people, but through art the physical representation we believe we should hold can be manifested. The paintings communicate themes of beauty standards, mental health awareness and self-belief when it comes to creative opportunities.
