Perceptions endeavours to explore the difference between the actual and the perceived world. Furthermore, we feel it is our responsibility as artists to challenge the accepted norms of society. Through an eclectic mix of media and work a thought-provoking exhibition has been put together.
Featuring the work of eight emerging artists based in Queensland's South East corner.
Kazmin Samia, Nicola Garrett, Carolyn Stubbin, Gail Johnston, Rachel North, Jacinta Giles, Morgan Louise Anderson and Mikkaeli Carleton work across a range of media including photography, printmaking, painting, mixed media, video art, small objects, sculpture and fine art. Their art practices explore issues such as human rights, gender equality, multiculturalism and identity to name a few.
Exhibition continues until 28th of July 2016
Please note that the last event at 103 Brunswick Street was on May 22, 2018. That building is now sold and operated by YMCA Brisbane. We are currently expanding The Stairwell Project [at the RBWH,St VIncent’s and Prince Charles Hospital] Tarragindi Guide Hut Studios, City-well Installations and planning for the 10th Marie Ellis OAM Prize for Drawing in 2019.
