An exhibition showcasing a new body of work from Brisbane based artist David Fenoglio. His images of objects and interior spaces move beyond the ordinary through the language of paint and light. In our culture of the immediate image and instant gratification, David’s technical approach to oil painting draws attention to beauty in the everyday. “The process for me of careful observation and the restrictions of an inherently slow medium is somewhat of an antithesis to a culture of the immediate and easy image”.
In David’s work there are subtle connections between the objects, suggesting open narratives within the paintings, allowing the viewer to linger a little longer and appreciate the ordinary.
